New Fire Safety Advertising Campaign
The FDNY Foundation has received a $900,000 grant from the Department of Homeland Security to further the message of fire safety to the millions of people that live, work and visit New York. A multi-media advertising campaign will kick off in November and will include TV, Radio, Internet and Print ads.
The new advertising campaign will support the Department’s successful awareness and community programs. The Foundation will be reaching out to the business community and community groups to join us in this campaign and help us support the Department in its efforts to reduce the number of fires and fire-related injuries and fatalities.
The Foundation will the use the DHS grant and our goodwill with the press office, City, Board members, donors, and media community to spread the Department's fire safety message to New Yorkers everywhere. On hand October 9th to announce the grant was Chief Gregory Cade, Administrator of the United States Fire Administration at the Department of Homeland Security. Chief Cade is a highly accomplished and respected member of the firefighting community and brings 40 years of emergency management experience to this important post within the department. Chief Cade was joined by our Chairman, Stephen Ruzow, Vice Chairman Andrew Guarino, Commissioner Scoppetta and Chief Cassano.
