Pet Fire Safety
- Keep pets out of any room where candles are burning. Even when candles are on a table, pets can jump up, or jostle things over and start a fire.
- Pet should sleep and stay at least 3 feet away from electric space heaters. It is better to actually keep pets out of any room where an electric space heater is being used. Your cat or dog can knock over a wastebasket full of paper into the heating coils and easily start a fire.
- Train your pet to stay away from the stove and fireplace. Even when you are being careful, your pet can knock into things and start a fire.
